Well, the Feds are on the move continually aren’t they? With the changing of the CSA Basics category issues, HOS and EOBR, we’ll know more shortly as time goes. Sammons is doing better in Safety regards, but we need to strive to do better as it goes on. Phil reports that our inspections are solid and the out of services are declining. Note too, that our competition’s out of service ratings seem to be getting better than ours as we remain in Alert status. Please continue to make every check possible when doing your daily inspections. Thanks for this.
On the UTi front, we are seeing more and more opportunities with the domestic freight network. UTi Transportation Management (TM) has turned on some pretty strong accounts and we’re working closely with them for our involvement. Contractor friendly freight is the key to our success. As opportunities arise, we’re reviewing all.
While the economy is bouncing along on the weak end, we still seem to glean opportunities. Our position with CAT, has gotten stronger and the network of other clients has picked up, in part due to the shippers concern about capacity when the economy really turns to the better. I’m convinced that better times are ahead.
With that said, I’m proud to be a part of UTi and our network, proud of working with the professional Independent Contractors and support staff at Sammons. Where to next? Good things are coming upon us as we all work towards the positives that we have. As always, be safe.
As we come to the close of another successful year, we would like to extend our warmest wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. May all of the blessings of the Christmas Season be yours.
Tim
