Current State and Count Closures


Good morning,

 

Due to recent hurricane activity on the Eastern part of the United States T-Chek was made aware of the following statuses for each state:

 

è North Carolina – Open

 

è Virginia – Closed. No known restrictions.

 

à  Maryland – Closed.  The following statement is listed on their website: Due to expectations of Hurricane Sandy, Maryland State office is closed Monday, October 29, 2012 to Tuesday, October 30, 2012.  Email or call our emergency contacts above if you have any questions or need more information.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: NO Permit MOVES starting MONDAY October 29 THRU WEDNESDAY October 31 UNLESS Storm Relief Related

 

è Delaware – Closed – Statement listed on their website:  All State office locations will be closed on Tuesday, October 30th due to the Delaware State of Emergency.

 

è Pennsylvania – Open, travel restricted in the Districts listed below.  Statement listed on the state’s website: Due to the dangerous wind speeds associated with Hurricane Sandy, beginning at 12:30 PM, today (10/29/12), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) is restricting oversized/overweight vehicles on the following Pa. roadways in:

 

District 4-0 (Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, Wyoming counties)
District 5-0 (Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe, Schuylkill counties)
District 6-0 (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Philadelphia counties)
District 8-0 (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, York counties) 

 

è New Jersey – Closed. No known restrictions.

 

è New York – Open. There is still a non-emergency oversize vehicle travel ban on and south of Interstate 84, including Nassau and Suffolk Counties.  Oversize travel is allowed in the rest the state at this time, though there have been some instances of downed trees or flooding that may temporarily block roads.  It is advised to check out 511NY to make sure there are no incidents in the area you intend to travel.

 

è Connecticut – Closed.  Emergency moves only.

 

è Rhode Island – Closed. No known restrictions.

 

è Massachusetts – Open. No known restrictions.

 

è New Hampshire – No OS/OW permit travel until Wednesday, October 31, 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy

 

è Maine – Open.  No known restrictions.

 

è Vermont – Closed.  Emergency moves related to Hurricane Sandy ONLY.
