Year to date wrap up from Teresa.

It is hard to believe we are already moving in to November and the holidays are right around the corner.  It has definitely been an interesting year with our freight market.  January through June was very promising and then the 4th of July hit and freight definitely leveled off.  August and September had some bright spots but the freight bucket just wasn’t as full as we usually see it in the summer months.  October, however, started with a bang and has been a pretty good month overall.  Probably the biggest brightest spot in October has been the amount of oil rig moves we have done and that they have come from four different customers.

The 2013 Best Fleets to Drive For nominations opened up in September and Sammons was the third company nominated, the only two that got nominated before us were on the east coast.  Currently we are in the process of completing the company questionnaire and interview and then you will all be given the information to log in and participate in the Q & A for Sammons.  Last year we way exceeded the participation percentage needed and hope this year is even better!!

We are receiving some positive feedback on our new “Tip of the Day” messages and appreciate the comments and tips you all send along.   Some days it may feel like you are being put in email overload but we hope it has opened up more lines of communication in regards to trucking news, company updates, new agents, etc.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families.  Hopefully, you will be spending time with friends or families but if you find yourself out on the road, we will buy your Thanksgiving dinner.  As in the past, just send in a copy of your receipt and we will reimburse you.  And since this is our end of year Scramble, I’d also like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
